dolls can be surprisingly adult. These paper dolls, created by C. David
Claudon, cover a variety of periods and styles.
earlier sets were made the traditional way. I would draw them, ink in
the finished design and then paint them with water color or colored
pencil. I now work with Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Corel Painter IX, however. After creating
the original drawing in ink on tracing paper, I scan them and "paint"
them in Photoshop and Painter. The original file has all the paper dolls layered
so I can check the accuracy of fit. Also I can get great detail working in 300 dpi.
The Paper Doll World of David Claudon is a 160 page book which includes 17 full panel color sets of paper dolls. Included are five saints, Shakespeare, Elizabeth I, Samuel Pepys, Theda Bara as Cleopatra, and Santa Claus. Click here to learn more.
