Paper dolls can be surprisingly adult. These paper dolls, created by C. David Claudon, cover a variety of periods and styles.
My earlier sets were made the traditional way. I would draw them, ink in the finished design and then paint them with water color or colored pencil. I now work with Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Corel Painter IX, however. After creating the original drawing in ink on tracing paper, I scan them and "paint" them in Photoshop and Painter. The original file has all the paper dolls layered so I can check the accuracy of fit. Also I can get great detail working in 300 dpi.
